It is now exam week, and I should soon be able to start posting more regularly, as promised several weeks ago. As soon as I finish grading 500+ pages of assignments, make up six different exams, preferably with two or three sub-versions of each to discourage cheating, administer them, and grade them, of course.
I used to think that Origen, On First Principles was the best-ever match of author to title, but have just run across the gloomy Sonnets de la Mort by the French Baroque poet Jean de Sponde.
